Life Skills Training
We provide education to community members on essential life skills re: subjects such as marriage, children, personal integrity, study habits, financial management, organization techniques, conflict resolution strategies, and assisting those who are ill or injured.
Livestock and Farming
We furnish the village with sufficient seeds and livestock for long-term sustainability. Each area has to assess what type of livestock is best for them. In our villages in Uganda so far pigs, poultry and goats were chosen. Some villages can do better with cows. Poultry, goats and cows are great as you can live off the milk products and eggs without killing the animals.
Clean and Safe Drinking Water
We provide a clean and reliable drinking water source for the entire village, effectively decreasing instances of waterborne illnesses like diarrhea, giardiasis, dysentery, typhoid fever, E. Coli infections, and salmonellosis. In Uganda we can pipe clean and treated drinking water into each village for between $160 to $200. In Liberia they had to dig wells, buy culverts and giant water pumps and treat the water. I dream of boreholes!!!!
Education, Housing, Medical Services and Self Sustaining Orphanages
We want to first set up some sort of medical help such as dispensing medicine and testing for villagers and then set up a small clinic to service the villagers and also educate villagers on disease prevention. We help the villagers to set up a self sustaining orphanage and schools. Our big success is in training villagers on life skills courses using online training programs and seminars. One of our main focuses is on literacy programs and then teaching trades and self sustaining programs such as building solar ovens, reforestation projects, fish farming, vertical farming etc.
